R&Beans is run by Shahidah and Dez. They used to spend weekends in cafes, planning the life they wanted.

In 2020 a home purchase fell through. They put the savings into a shop instead and built it out themselves, permit setbacks and all, brick by brick.

Doors opened August 17, 2024. Since then the calendar has filled up with pop-ups, live sets, and a block party for the shop's second anniversary.

Every cup goes out with an uplifting message written on it. That's the whole idea. Coffee, records, and a good word.
